This is because we use real patchouli, not synthetic substitutes, and as a result, you’re seeing a small price increase.

"I’ve never been one for flower scents but I grew up in the time of flower children. I have always loved the smell of patchouli as it takes me back to my childhood. The scent of this laundry soap is perfect. It is not too strong but strong enough that you catch a gentle spicy whiff throughout the day. Hope this scent is a permanent option. "I have been using this laundry soap for awhile. The sent used to be so strong that it would last through the washer and dryer and would come out smelling like patchouli. This latest batch (after the lengthy backorder) has a subtle scent and I can’t smell it after the washer. I am not sure if the concentration of the patchouli scent was changed, but it sure seems like it. I don’t enjoy the soap as much as I used to. If you changed the concentration, please change it back!"
"I love Zum detergent and have been buying for a long time now. Patchouli was out of stock for a year and when it finally became available again, I started buying it again. But now it doesn't seem the same. It seems more watery and not as strong of a scent. I still love the detergent but a little disappointing because it was my favorite scent."

"You just don’t know how much I love the scent patchouli. I give this four stars only because I don’t smell it on my newly washed clothes like I imagined I would. I’m hoping that I use more than a half a capful, I will be able to have this heavenly scent remaining after they are dry. It certainly deserves five stars the way it smells when you open the big bottle – – that’s what I want to linger awhile!"
"The scent is subtle and I like it. I mixed it with some Zum Lavender Soap because I cannot get the patchouli scent at my local store. I wanted it to last longer. I make my own bath products and mix patchouli, lavender and rosemary so the blended scent of the two laundry detergents smells nice."
"I have ordered your product for about a couple years and the first two times I got the Pachulia it smelt excellent and then I got peculiar franchise which I didn’t care for and now I have plain Pachulia again which I paid $50 for and it doesn’t even smell like the first time I bought it so I’m really kind of disappointed probably won’t be buying anymore."
